1) List five adjectives that describe you

➡️ Direct

➡️ Kind

➡️ Detail Oriented

➡️ Playful

➡️ Philosophical

2) Which living person do you most admire?

No celebrities are coming to mind. One person that does come to mind is a friend of mine. She is incredibly enthusiastic, open, honest and very much always herself. I admire that quite a lot.

3) What do you most value in your friends?

Genuine connection. I think we all just want to be seen for who we actually are rather than seen for our circumstance or titles, etc. When you find someone who really sees you, and seems to still like you, hold on to them!

4) Where would you most like to live?

Chicago! Thankfully, I have the ability to live in a wide variety of places, and I have. I’m in Chicago for a number of personal and professional reasons. While I was born here, living here now is a conscious choice.

5) What is your current state of mind?

Focused. BOB is working on an awesome lineup of events for the summer and the Institute has just released our first round of courses.

6) What is your motto?

Set your own standards. Let yourself out.

Everyone seems to think “genius” is about brain power. But really it’s a lot more about letting the spark of genius that we all have out into the world.

7) Why are you passionate about your project?

I had no intention of being a community organizer or an educator. But, Bitcoin feels like mine. I find it to be a powerful force for good in the world and when I see something wrong with it, I can’t help but get in there and try to fix it. The projects I’ve taken on are simply because I saw an issue that I was in a decent place to help out with.

8) Tell us the best story about your community

My favorite stories from the meetup are the transformations. It’s happened a few times where someone has come to an event, looking a bit uncomfortable, and tells me it is their first crypto meetup. And then maybe a year later I’ll walk past them at an event and over hear them in a heated debate about blockchain applications, etc. Those moments are my favorite!

9) What are three things you find the most challenging about your job?

➡️ Keeping a track of all the little things.

➡️ Finding sponsors.

➡️ People. They are the best, and also the most complicated.

10) What are three things about your job makes you feel the most fulfilled?

  1. Walking around an event and seeing all the laughter and conversation happening amongst attendees.
  2. Being able to bring awesome speakers and content into the Chicago crypto scene.
  3. Meeting and hanging out with awesome people.

11) What is your biggest accomplishment as a community manager?

Connecting and educating people. I love to see two people that I connected go on to build some awesomeness together!
