Ronald Acuna Jr of the Atlanta Braves is the front-runner for National League MVP this season.

Coming into the league in 2018, everyone was aware of his skill and potential. In 2018 he had a solid year. In 111 games, he batted .293 with 26 home runs and 64 RBIs. He also had 16 stolen bases.

Fast forward to 2021.

Acuna was on pace to have a better season than 2019, in which he batted .280 with 41 home runs, 101 RBIs, and 37 stolen bases until tragedy struck. Ronald Acuna suffered a torn ACL which meant he was out for the rest of the season.

The Braves surprisingly won the world series that year, with the help of some players they got to replace the hurt Acuna.

With this injury in mind, most fans thought that Acuna would never be the same.

In 2022 he had an alright year, batting .266 with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs. His strikeout rate was up, and his slugging percentage was down–definitely not the ideal season for Acuna. But considering his injury, most people didn’t really think much of his performance.

2023 was a year where Acuna had to prove himself again, and he did more than prove himself so far.

In 113 games, he’s batting .340 with 26 home runs and 70 RBIs with 53 stolen bases. Acuna is on track to break some records this year and is already a lock to win the MVP award. To say he proved himself is an understatement.

Ronald Acuna Jr has solidified himself as a superstar for years to come.
