London — 1 June 2018 Omnitude, the British blockchain middleware platform, today announced a partnership with catering specialist Absolute Taste. It will see Omnitude’s Blockchain-based middleware platform integrated with Absolute Taste’s existing systems, allowing them to communicate with their end customers about the provenance of the food on their plate.

Absolute Taste provides creative and innovate food experiences to complex international and domestic events such as; Formula E; The British Grand Prix at Silverstone; The Fever Tree Championships at Queens; The Volvo Round The World Yacht Race; to name but a few. Specialising also in fixed venues providing restaurant, café and hospitality services across a number of UK locations in conjunction with working in the UK and internationally providing food to corporate and private business jets, Absolute Taste is a truly diverse business all of which has one thing in common; the provision of beautiful food and pinnacle service to all of its clients.

Absolute Taste is working with Omnitude to bring the benefits of blockchain to its food supply chain, ensuring trust within its entire supply structure. The deal will enable the end customers of Absolute Taste to track the complete provenance of the food on their plate — right down to the fisherman who line caught their salmon, or the farm which reared their beef. Omnitude’s novel use of blockchain technology will be integrated with other solutions including QR codes to allow diners to source information even before they have placed an order with their waiter.

Gary Kennerley, Managing Director of Absolute Taste, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with Omnitude. Absolute Taste is a company that has always sought to provide innovation to all of its clients and we always harness the latest in technology innovation to further enrich their experience. Historically, the provenance of the produce we use is expressed to customers through a few words on a menu. However, our partnership with Omnitude will give those eating our food a far deeper experience at our events and venues, and even to the private jets we service. Each item on the menu will have a unique, trusted, verifiable journey that customers can explore. It’s part of our commitment to cutting edge cuisine that is customer-centric and deeply personalised as well as fitting perfectly with our philosophy of taking the story behind our produce very seriously.”

“We are really beginning to see the variety of applications that blockchain can be applied to, along with how they will directly affect our everyday lives,” said Chris Painter, CEO of Omnitude. “Whether it is demonstrating the provenance of a restaurant’s produce, or radically overhauling the way that F1 companies such as Williams handle its data, blockchain is altering the technology landscape for businesses in a way that will drastically affect consumer experience. In using blockchain to track catering provenance, we will enrich the dining experience of Absolute Taste’s millions of customers.”

The partnership with Absolute Taste who work extensively within motorsport, follows Omnitude’s recent announcement that it is partnering with Williams Martini Racing in an effort to explore how blockchain technology can enhance the world of Formula One.
