What’s your stack? (Productivity Stack)
It’s a typical question for coders. And although I’m not a pure bred coder, I have a stack too. A productivity stack that works together to get the results I want. Upon first glance, it seems overwhelming but they all serve different purposes in my life.
Don’t adopt new technologies because they’re hip and cool. Adopt them because they fill a void in your brain.
Todoist — my all-around task organizer and my life support
My mind lives in this app. Everything is intuitive. There’s an inbox for uncategorized tasks which I use for the “I’m running late but I need to remember this in 2 hours” tasks. There’s an option to not assign a date to a task which makes this great for simple list keeping. From my daily to-dos to monthly “pay your credit card bills,” to distant reminders to connect with someone — this app manages it all.
Best part, it’s on every platform imaginable and syncs (almost) seamlessly between them.

Gmail — my communication with the strange outside world and my hidden joy
Some of the best news in my life have come from my email. Job offers, opportunity acceptances, pivotal updates — it all reaches me here. Also, it’s completely customizable. My favourite feature is multiple inboxes where I sort my to-do emails & my for-reference emails. I have a whole productivity series on Gmail in the works. Just you wait.

Google Calendar — my schedule — how surprising!
mmk.
Google Keep — my notes and my brain dump
Anything I don’t trust my brain to remember goes here.
- on-the-go lists
- random lists
- writing bursts
- pitches
- action items + details
- drafts for Medium and this post
- my hashtag repository for @omnomchaos
- reference notes I need on my phone
- etc etc etc

Trello — my organizer
If my life was a project, this would be the organizational tool. Here lie my personal projects, my life planning, and my travel itineraries.

Paper — gool ol’ trusty notebook + Passion Planner
It’s easier on the eyes. It’s easier on my left hand (because it doesn’t need to be used). It’s reliable. It doesn’t run out of battery.

Asana + Slack = the ultimate (team) work duo
Work life. More and more, I see this combination popping up everywhere I go. And I have to say — it does work.
Yes! Productivity! Nice. What’s your stack?
