Podcast measurement is a challenge of the emerging maturity of the ad-led monetisation strategy of the industry. And we at Omny Studio love a challenge!

Earlier this week we presented a RAIN Webinar where we announced a breakthrough in podcast measurement.

As it is widely known in the industry, a large portion (approx. 80%) of podcast listening is happening in Apple’s Podcasts app. Up until now, there has been a lack of insight into granular listener consumption data of podcasts such as where people listen, skip or stop from the Apple Podcasts app.

Through new research and development efforts, we are excited to announce we can now track and report consumption data from roughly 30% of podcast plays through the Apple Podcasts app using a new proprietary Omny Studio analytics algorithm. For the tracked users, the report will be able to show where listeners listened or skip, start-at and drop-off points within seconds accuracy.

We’ve uploaded a quick demo of the consumption analytics that can be reported on listening through the Apple Podcasts app.

We hope to share more details and make consumption analytics for Apple Podcasts available to Omny Studio customers later this year.

This will compliment the consumption analytics data we already collect from our embed widgets and custom mobile apps available to our customers today.

For more information or any inquiries, please get in touch with us at info@omnystudio.com. We’re looking forward to sharing more details in the near future!
