Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump made some very interesting and controversial statements, for example: calling North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un a ‘rocket man’ and he warned the US would ‘totally destroy North Korea’. In this odd and very controversial debut of Trump in the ‘UN’, he directly put a target on Kim Jong-un and the whole of North Korea as he stated “while the US has great strength and patience, its options could soon run out”.

Iran was also a very controversial topic in the general assembly as he denounced the Iran nuclear deal as an “embarrassment”."Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States, and I don’t think you’ve heard the last of it,” he said. “Believe me. It is time for the entire world to join us in demanding that Iran’s government end its pursuit of death and destruction.” Donald Trump also singled out Cuba and Venezuela stating “this corrupt regime imposed a failed ideology that created misery, This situation is unacceptable, and we cannot stand by and watch”. Trump also supported and talked very good about ‘Antonio Guterres’, the UN secretary-general, for his efforts to encourage reform. But it was Trumps statements towards North Korea that made the loudest buzz in the UN general assembly, whom Trump spoke to over 100 world leaders and diplomats.

After Trump’s 40 minute speech came to a conclusion with a very compelling and united statement “We will fight together, sacrifice together and stand together for peace. For justice, for humanity , and the almighty God that made us all. Once he got of stage and left the assembly he was asked how he felt about his debut speech and he calmly answered with “I think it went really well, I said what I had to say”.
