The Florida Gators have produced many defensive-backs throughout the years, for example names like: Joe Haden, Lito Sheppard, Vernon Hargreaves-III, Reggie Nelson and most recently Jalen “Teez” Tabor and Quincy Wilson going in the 2nd round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Defensive Coordinator Randy Shannon and Defensive-Back Coach Corey Bell have added three 4-star and three 3-star Defensive Backs for the upcoming future, and oh my does it seem bright.“I’m excited about those young DBs,” McElwain said. “I’m excited about what they’ve done. We’re able to kind of put some guys on the corner. Starting of with power house 6–1, 186lb, CJ Henderson from Miami, FL,№15-ranked DB in the class. Two games two pick-sixes for the freshmen, going with a total of 57 yards. Against Tennessee, CJ’s father “Chris Henderson Sr. said a day later. “I was jumping around the whole time, I almost had to see the play again to see exactly what happened”.

Marco Wilson 6–0, 177lb coming out of Miami FL, as well younger brother of former Gator defenisve-back “Quincy Wilson” has started both games against Michigan and Tennessee. Although he hasn’t made as much impact as CJ Henderson he has completed 7 tackles and assisted 3 as he his playing “hook”. For the rest of the DBS “there will be time for rotation and they will all eventually get there time to shine on the field” said Jim McElwain, With CJ and Marco taking turns it will make it harder for the rest of the DBS, as one spot is taken by Senior “Duke Dawson”, but it will be an interesting challenge for the players and Defensive Coordinator “Ray Shannon”. The future is bright for these 6 Freshmen DBS and for the University Of Florida Football program.
