Some of the most pivotal trades in our league history have been accomplished on the weeks leading up to the trade deadline. We haven’t seen a cusp-of-midnight deal yet, but after canvasing the league, there is no shortage of trade chatter with so many teams in contention for a playoff spot.

This year, the league’s trade deadline is on Saturday, Nov 21. With that in mind, this segment will report on the latest trade buzz swirling around the league.

Mystery MNF Wide Receiver Being Shopped (Jets-Pats)

11/9: Multiple owners have expressed that a fairly active GM in our league has been shopping the same player to multiple teams in order to capitalize on a positive MNF performance. The active GM is looking for a RB.

Could the player be Jakobi Meyers? Jamison Crowder?

Who is the mystery shopper? Caleb’s team could benefit from a RB upgrade, starting a pair of disappointing RB’s in Zeke and Bell. Danny’s team could also be seeking a RB upgrade, after McCaffrey and Johnson both got dinged up, but he doesn’t seem to be active in the trade market.

Evolution out of Ashes

11/11: Rumor is — Jesse’s team has considered packaging one of his RB workhorses + WR2/3 for an upgrade at either position. Tee Higgins in particular has been shopped as an up-and-coming receiver.

Sitting at RB4 overall, James Robinson is a top RB1, and the combo of Mixon & Gio nearly guarantees RB1 production for a RB-needy team. But there seems to be a frustrating difference in valuation with other owners.

“No one wants to make trades to win. People want to make trades to (avoid) last place. Cannot get far with that.” — Jesse

Lamar No Longer Big Truss?

11/12: Benny has put Lamar Jackson on the trade block. While QB isn’t the most premium position in our league, Benny has said he is willing to move on from last year’s league MVP for a reasonable price.

Could there be a team that is willing to bet Lamar will regain his elite rushing form? QB-needy teams range from Caleb, Ramon, or Bode’s teams.

AA Renamed to AJ Aur

11/12: This is the least speculative news. AA has reportedly received many offers for Aaron Jones in the past few weeks. Some offers even include a high-end RB1 or WR1, yet they have all been declined.

AA is also unwilling to part with his other AJ. Though owners may inquire about Brown after his dud vs. Colts, trader beware — AA has rehearsed lines of:

  • “I like where my team is at…”
  • “AJ is an AJ AJ AJ for life.”

Gordon Eyeing RB Upgrade

11/13: Sources are saying Gordon is looking for improvement at his RB position. This aligns with the news of Chubb’s return and Ekeler’s recent video.

To make that improvement, Gordon is willing to trade across various positions to make it happen, given his depth. His plethora of wide receivers, starting TE (Gronkowski, Hockenson), as well as RB committees (Jackson, Kelley, Taylor, Wilkins) are available.

Bingo, Bango, Trade-O

11/13: McCaffrey’s latest shoulder injury could result in a multi-week absence, especially with a week 13 bye looming. Mike Davis has a shot at multi-week RB1 value. If the Panthers opt to shut CMC down to avoid over-extending their star, Davis becomes a locked-in top 10 RB.

While Kong’s team has a nice record, Theo’s team is right on his heels for the 1st round playoff bye. Kong could swap Davis for a longer-term fixture (like a RB2 or WR2). Could a desperate team with a RB/WR on BYE be willing to trade for several potential RB1 starts?

Another route to obtain an elite skill position player is trading Kyler Murray. This is an idea that Kong is rumored to have entertained in past couple weeks.

Fueling up for more trips to the end zone

Stay Saucy Still Looking to Split Steeler WR Duo?

11/13: Theo has made it known to multiple teams that he is willing to split up his Steelers WR duo (D. Johnson, C. Claypool) in exchange for a starting caliber RB to pair with Gurley.

While Ballage had a good week filling in for Justin Jackson, he is just a bye-week filler. Now that Diontae has finished multiple games without injury, there could be a more curious market.

Image of Contentment

11/13: Caleb has communicated he plans on standing pat leading up to the trade deadline: “My team is good. I completed my Mona Lisa by acquiring F1 McScorin’ for free.” Ironically, this is just another version of Alex’s rehearsed line “I like where my team is at.”

This news conflicts with other sources, as Caleb has been a name that has repeatedly come up in trade conversations.
