The essence of being a successful creative is learning how to lead. It’s not as hard as you might think, but it does involve a bit of courage and willingness to grow out of limiting beliefs.

Practical Aspects of Leading

First, you need to find a shared interest with others online (aka your niche). But you need to genuine about it, you can’t half-ass creative work online and expect people to follow you nonetheless.

Second, you need a way to communicate. The platform that you’re on doesn’t matter as much as that you have a way to communicate and you’re using it to connect and build relationships with the people that intake your content. Different tools will come and ago, but just realize that technology is making it that much easier to connect with people and be willing to change the tool depending on where the attention is at.

Leaders follow the attention and transform an interest into a passionate goal and desire for change. It’s not enough just to lecture an idea, you have to inspire people to create change based on their shared interest.

Overcoming Resistance and Fears

Figuring out your niche and a way to communicate is the easy part. The real work begins in working with resistance and adding value to people’s lives on a regular basis.

You may have some fears holding you back, like the fear of success or social fears about what other people will think of your work and what you’re putting out into the world. Being a leader means developing self-confidence and breaking through the fears that are holding you back.

The fact stands that you have everything you need right now to build something bigger than yourself, people are spending more time than ever on the internet and they’re ready to follow.

By putting out consistent content on the internet, you’re building trust that you can use at a later point in time. Every contact you have with a viewer is a way to build trust and change their life in some way shape or form.
