In baseball, on deck refers to being next in line to bat. On a naval aircraft carrier, on deck refers to a boarded pilot in his plane on the flight deck in which the pilot then is taxied to the catapult and launched. — ON DECK is where my thoughts are composed in original form.

What a ride life has been, especially the past three years.

In 2014, on my birthday actually, I set out West and moved to Los Angeles. In 2015 — called NYC home. Began attending NYU for graduate school. Did a lot of good things there, mostly outside the classroom. About a year later, I was fortunate to marry my fiancee of two years in Italy. We had no plans to do this two weeks prior. Spontaneity. Read many great books that earned the paper they were printed on. We welcomed our first son, Oliver, later that year. Becoming a father is incredible. Attained a masters degree from NYU. Our little family drove across these Unites States of America in moving back to Los Angeles. What a trip. Lots of great stories. One frightening in particular. A cross-country trip from the east coast to the west coast can only be summed up in in one word, beautiful. My wife, Savannah, started her own interior design firm on the west coast. My son is growing every day. He is huge. With an even larger heart. I’m not kidding.

What’s next? Hard to say. When I had my life planned in 2013, it didn’t include LA or NYC. Things could not have gone better. That is not to say planning is not useful, because it is extremely crucial in many walks of life. Intellectual curiosity is the sole source of my energy and drive. Dating back to the farms of Louisiana, beaches of Florida, university — essentially all I have sought after has been lead by this one theme. And to be honest, it grows constantly. However, several stay clear and remain true. It is what I devote my time to, thus it leads my life wherever it needs to go — physically or mentally.
