DON’T TURN A BLIND EYE. KEEP YOUR EYES WIDE.

Over the past several months I’ve chosen not to publish or make public my thoughts on Christian theology, ethics, and engagement regarding the president and the state of our nation and Church. I can’t tell you how much heartache that has saved me. And, yet, a heartache-less life is not what the Christian has been called to but rather one filled with joy and challenge for the sake of the glory of God and the good of neighbor.

That said, I thought I’d share a couple of quick thoughts regarding 45 and his effort to bring together ‘evangelicals’ from across the country for the sake of strengthening his base.

1. Praise God for the work that He does in spite of us. And praise God for our participation in it.

God has done some stuff through Trump that is undeniable. God has prospered some during this presidency through the president. God has kept war from our borders during this presidency. And God has allowed for the continuation and maybe even the reinvigoration of Religious Freedom during this presidency as 45 has cooperated with Him.

2. God help us when we ignore bad leadership, deny wrong-doing, and cheer on unjust, unkind, and oppressive language/behavior.
