5 Traits of Boringly Opinionated People

A not-so-subtle reminder of what not to do.

I don’t see too many Boringly Opinionated people, to be honest.

People who come to therapy are up for self-exploration — for making change — so they’re not inclined to rant about themselves.

And narcissists don’t come to therapy (unless coerced by a struggling partner) and, even then, they’ll only come once. Because there’s nothing to fix, right? It’s their partner’s problem.

So it’s more likely you’ll see the Boringly Opinionated out in the world, doing their thing — loudly — and failing to notice the glazed expressions on the faces of their Adoring Crowd.

But it’s good to have opinions…

Yes it is, it’s healthy to jump down off the fence and stand up for what you believe in — but not without being open to the views, thoughts and ideas of others.

People who can’t do that — arghhh. They scare me. Not because they really scare me but because they don’t “get” how their stuff, and their persona, is being perceived. Which has a ring of sadness to it.

Highly opinionated people may not be aware of what they are doing. They may lack personal insight for a range of reasons, such as a mental health condition that…
