There’s this ANNOYING person at work.

You know, the one who asks for your advice but doesn’t listen to it. Who works (or doesn’t work) to their own rules. Who believes the workplace was built for them. Who raises your blood pressure just by showing up.

That person who says things that make your eyes bulge and your fingers twitch. Who makes you want to scream and rant until you look like the crazy one. Who is slowly (actually, not so slowly) eating you alive.

Argghhhh! What to do?

Psychologists frequently hear stories of difficult people in the workplace. That’s because it’s so common — it’s almost impossible to go through your career without knocking up against someone who has you gnashing your teeth.

If it’s serious — bullying, sexual harassment, conduct breaches or any behaviour that threatens the safety or wellbeing of others — it needs to be reported. But if someone’s just annoying you? Take a breath.
