The World’s 50 Best Restaurants

The Barcelona restaurant Disfrutar has just been chosen as the best in the world in the “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” list, announced this past Wednesday in Las Vegas, USA.
Disfrutar, which opened in December 2014 nearly a decade ago, is run by three Catalan chefs, Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas, who previously worked together at elBulli. The restaurant first entered this prestigious list in 2018 (ranking 19th) and has since climbed up to become number 1 in 2024.
The second spot on the list is taken by another Spanish restaurant, Asador Etxebarri, located in Atxondo, while the Madrid restaurant Diverxo, run by Dabiz Muñoz, is in fourth position.
