These are a few of our favorite things.

BUY.
Kith Brooklyn.

This elegantly designed and beautifully lit retail mere steps from the Barclays Center is more of a shrine to the Art of the Sneaker than a mere terrestrial store for sneakerheads. Like slide specimens in a lab, clear glass shelving elevates a progression of high and low top offerings from classic to contemporary and carefully curated racks showcase selections of the latest in urban casual. You’ll find something to buy you didn’t know you wanted — it’s that kind of place. Oh, and don’t forget to hit their “breakfast cereal bar” on the way to grab a bowl of one of their mashups like the Bam Bam. Your inner child (if not your dentist) will thank you.

EAT.
Lam Zhou Handmade Noodle and Dumplings.

Sometimes it’s enough to do one thing really, really, really well. Like AC/DC. Tom Brady. Kobayashi. Baryshnikov. You become a student of that one thing. You put in Gladwell’s 10,000 hours of practice. Over time, you become a master of that thing. And so it is with the dumplings at Lam Zhou Handmade Noodle and Dumplings on East Broadway. No question their soups and hand pulled noodles are divine. But we go there for the dream-and-drool-worthy pork dumplings. Thin and delicate, a slight crunch on one side and served steaming hot with house soy and scallions, this is pure dumpling perfection. It’s assuredly not a beautiful place to dine, but luckily for all of us, they’ve been concentrating on their peerless dumpling game instead of reading back issues of Elle Decor.

DO.
The Graham & Co.

Whether you’re looking for a drivable getaway or just want a place to recharge over the weekend, we’d implore you to consider a stay at boutique The Graham & Co. in Phoenicia, NY. If the Catskills and Brooklyn had a love-child, it might look something like this place. Imagine an old-school motel that’s been re-imagined by a clever duo of creative designers from Manhattan. Rooms are simple but beautiful. There’s a cracklin’ fire in the potbelly stove and homemade mixers at the ready for your happy hour cocktails. Clear your head with a crisp mountain hike, maybe a day pass at Hunter, or indulge in our own favorite vacation activity: eat, and eat, and eat. Book it right now!
