I Never Get Tired Of Writing

Day 142/365: The best thing since Nutella

Today was a lousy Tuesday. I had to drive my mom to town in the morning, only to get back to a breakfastless kitchen. That was not our deal, mom! Eventually, I got myself some over-easy eggs and some toast and then started working.

I sometimes get tired of the back pain resulting from me sitting at the computer for hours on end. It sometimes gets so bad, I simply pop Ibuprofen and other painkillers like Tic-Tacs. There goes another secret fact about me.

I sometimes get tired of my eyes being fucked at the end of the day. I get up from the desk and feel them move violently inside my sockets. They get me tired and dizzy, and some nights I don’t even need dinner, but just to take a nap after switching all of the devices off.

I sometimes get tired of not having enough time to do what I want. I am a freelancer, which implies a reasonably flexible schedule, but the truth is, you need to be unflexible on purpose to get things done. Especially when you’re doing two big projects at a time and some smaller ones on the side. This means I can’t go to lunch with a friend today, because there’s work to be done.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ― Maya Angelou

But the truth is, I never get tired of writing. It’s still my therapy to go to, even now, 7 years after I started doing it as a journalist and 5 months into my full-time freelancing journey. When I start writing, everything goes away.

The back pain, the buggy eyes, the not-so-flexible schedule, everything just melts away. Writing is the best thing that has ever happened to me. And to be able to make a living out of writing, out of laying words on a blank document, that’s simply a blessing for me.

Give writing a try!

Not as an income stream, no. Just as a way to lay down some words about your day at the end of it. Take a pen and a notebook and just write about your day. See how you feel after you write about it.

Trust me, writing is the best medicine you can ever take!

Thank you for your time!
