The Only Thing You Need to Say When Someone Tells You They’re Finally Getting Around to Something

I’ll keep this post short because its wisdom is simple.

When someone tells you they’re finally getting around to doing something they probably should’ve done a long time ago, there’s only one thing to say:

“That’s great!”

What about all those other things you would love to say?

Things like:

“What took you so long?” Nope

“Finally!” Nope

“Why did you wait so long?” Nope

“It’s about time!” Nope

Look, the inner workings that led to someone’s procrastination is none of anyone else’s business.

You can reward the behavior you’re so happy to see by being positive.

Shaming or guilting someone for taking longer than you think is reasonable only leads to tension, barriers and animosity.

We all want to support the people we love. Unfortunately, sometimes we’re least filtered when we talk to the people closest to us.

Want to be supportive? Just say, “that’s great!”

Because it is.

As always, I wish you all the best!
