TLDR: Get started with Kifi and Slack here.

A few months ago, Kifi software engineer Léo Grimaldi was chatting with his brother back in France. Léo’s brother, who runs a music hardware startup called Expressivee, told Léo how frustrated he was that he kept losing the links that he shared in his Slack channels.

That’s how Kifi’s Slack Integration was born. Our integration was part of the launch of Slack’s developer platform this week. Congrats to our friends at Slack, building out the best communication platform in the workplace and we are excited to be listed on their App Directory.

Léo realized that Kifi’s deep search capabilities — which enable our community to search the full content of web pages — could be married to Slack’s channels.

With the integration, you can:

Save links shared in messages on Slack

Links shared within Slack channels are automatically saved or “Kept” in a Kifi Library. Kifi creates a full-text index of every web page shared, making them easier to find in Slack, Google search, & on Kifi. You’ll never lose the links that tend to get lost among the hundred of messages your team sends via Slack.

Search the full text of links shared in Slack; Search for them on Google and in Slack

Search on Slack using the slash command “/kifi [search term]”. If you install Kifi’s browser extension, you can even get results of links shared within Slack when you’re searching on Google. With full-text indexing, every word on the page is used to help you recall the content you’re looking for. Search for anything deep within a page, and Kifi will get you back to where colleagues were talking about that content on Slack.

To enable Kifi search from within Slack — just go into one of your Libraries, and you’ll see a button to push that says “Add to Slack”.

You ready? Get started with the Kifi Slack integration!
