Frequency is now a parachain on Polkadot!
Yesterday, Frequency won Polkadot parachain auction #33, which means the project is now officially connected to the Polkadot network, a robust ecosystem of interoperable blockchains. At 7:36 p.m. PST on the 28th of November, Frequency built its first block on Polkadot and became a live parachain.
Polkadot’s unique architecture makes it possible for Frequency to deliver a breakthrough transaction pricing model that unlocks an entirely new class of use cases for blockchains. By introducing low, predictable pricing for high-frequency transactions such as messages, posts, and likes, this new parachain will make decentralized social networking possible at massive scale.
Ultimately, Frequency will deliver essential tooling to support a new era of open innovation in social networks — and help usher in a new generation of diverse apps that give people more agency, choice, and control in their digital lives. As the first production-scale implementation of DSNP, the Decentralized Social Networking Protocol, Frequency builds on technology that has been in development since early 2019.
