The Vietnamese cloud service market is projected to grow from $165 million in 2018 to $291 million by 2024. While the term “cloud” may seem abstract, the benefits of cloud computing to users, especially businesses are real and tangible.

1. WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?

Cloud Computing is a technology uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud computing allows users to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access.
How does it work? — A cloud computing system keeps its critical data on internet servers rather than distributing copies of data files to individual client devices. For examples, Netflix, a Video-sharing cloud services, stream data across the internet to a player application on the viewing device rather than sending customers DVD or BluRay physical discs.

3. CLOUD COMPUTING MODELS

There are three main models for cloud computing. Each model represents a different part of the cloud computing stack

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
IaaS refers to cloud-based infrastructure resources that are delivered to organizations via virtualization technology that help organizations build and manage their servers, network, operating systems, and data storage.

Platform as a Service (PaaS)
PaaS refers to cloud-based platform services that provide developers with a framework they can use to build custom applications upon.
IaaS offers administrators more direct control over operating systems than PaaS, but PaaS offers users greater flexibility and ease of operation.

Software as a Service (SaaS)
SaaS refers to cloud-based software that is hosted online by a company and is available for purchase on a subscription basis and is delivered via the internet.
SaaS are fully managed by another company, from the applications to the data to the servers, whereas PaaS products can be used as the foundation for building new products on top of the platform’s network. SaaS is best for companies looking for an out-of-the-box ease of use, and PaaS is best for companies looking to build a solution on an existing network
