5 Clues You’re Dealing With a Troll (and Why You Shouldn’t Let Them get Under Your Skin)

Trolls offer nothing of value.

It takes one nasty comment to ruin your whole day.

Sometimes it makes you feel so bad that you want to quit writing.

But you can’t let trolls stop you from writing. If you allow them to dictate what you will and won’t write, you’re giving your power over to them.

There’s nothing wrong with constructive criticism. But constructive criticism has a whole different tone to it than troll ranting.

Constructive criticism is when somebody tells you why they believe your opinion is wrong; and will offer their point of view on the subject. And all of this is done in a respectful tone.

But a troll will attack you. They will pounce on you and criticize you to no end. They’ll put you down and denigrate you to the point where you feel like giving up writing.

Here are five clues that you are dealing with a troll:
