Slap #039: You Keep Waiting to Feel Qualified. That’s the Trap.
Confidence doesn’t come before. It comes because you dared.
You are stalling your growth, not because you’re unskilled,
but because you are waiting for some internal green light that may never flicker on.
You think the feeling of being “ready” will arrive before the leap.
It won’t.
Because that feeling? It’s not permission.
It’s the byproduct of doing it scared.
Impostor Syndrome is clever.
It whispers:
- “You’re not there yet.”
- “You don’t belong here.”
- “What if they find out?”
But here’s the secret:
No one is “there.”
No one belongs until they show up.
No one “finds you out” if you own your place.
You become the real thing by doing real things.
Not by doubting.
Not by researching.
Not by rehearsing courage in private.
Just act.
Speak.
Create.
Lead.
Repeat.
Let the confidence chase you for once.
This slap was for me first.
Hope this one struck (pun always intended) a chord as well. Sing.
Until tomorrow.
Where are you still waiting for permission you never needed?
