Nixon just ORD-ed in November 2015 and has a place in Electrical Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He’s waiting to enter university in August and in the meantime, he’s gaining valuable work experience interning for AfterYou
Nixon is the entire front-line of AfterYou. He is in charge of the entire operations eco-system of the platform. He talks to both customers and freelance helpers everyday, making sure that every customer’s requests finds a helper that is eager and ready to work. If there is no Nixon, the whole company does not function. Nixon himself is constantly surprised at the level of responsibility he is given.
Because he is the front-line of the company, he typically works at times when everyone is resting, responding to requests at odd timings.

One great thing about working at AfterYou is that we always get to eat great food. Lunches where the whole company eats together are common, and we’re brought to eating places we’ve never heard before that turn out to be absolutely scrumptious. Our boss never seems to run out of places to bring us and he always jokes that we better be prepared to put on some weight while we work here.
Since Nixon is always talking to customers, he has a great feel for customer tastes and preferences. He takes note of feedback from customers, discovers issues with the system and discusses it with higher management to improve the user experience of the platform. Not every suggestion is implemented, but Nixon is stubborn and will always push for changes that he believes in.
Nixon is charge of AfterYou’s offline marketing efforts. He plans and executes offline marketing campaigns every week to ensure that awareness of our platform spreads to as many people in Singapore as possible.
The job is flexible, and sometimes Nixon doesn’t come to office and instead works from home. That’s the beauty of his job, he can work anywhere and he isn’t chained to an office space.
