The column for those who like to swing both ways… foodwise
This space exists to extol the virtues of both meat-based, vegetarian, and vegan cuisines. Whether that’s me sitting at the table of a restaurant or standing in my kitchen whilst chopping onions the aim is the same: we’re here to celebrate food in all its guises.
That’s why I go out of my way to promote places, recipes, and cook writers who excite my imagination. Occasionally, though, I come across a dud.
I went to Passyunk Avenue, in Battersea, full of illusions. After all, one of my favourite American-themed restaurants for many years was Ed’s Diner, especially the one in Leicester Square, London’s West End. An American dive bar in the big Smoke? Count me in.
I had some time to kill before attending a concert at World Heart Beat (a venue whose events list I highly recommend you check out), so I made my way into the heart of Nine Elms.
