The nightmare is over. The word has now spread throughout Miami that Jeffrey Loria is out and everyone all over the city had the same reaction.

The best news for the new Marlins ownership group is that Miami doesn’t care who you are or what value you bring — just don’t be as bad as Jeffrey Loria, which seems impossible to do.

Here are 5 suggestions the new Miami Marlins ownership group can do to win over the Miami community.

1. Keep Jose Fernandez’ Memory Alive

The new ownership group will have to make the decision on whether or not to erect a Jose Fernandez statue. I am okay with whatever decision they make because there are arguments on both sides. Even though the new owners will have no connection to Jose, it’s important that they continue to keep his memory alive in whatever method they choose.

2. Bring back Tommy Hutton

No disrespect to new Marlins announcer, Todd Hollandsworth, but universally beloved former Marlins announcer Tommy Hutton didn’t deserve to lose his job a few years ago. Jeffrey Loria’s piss poor decision to let go of Tommy due to his superiorty complex can be rectified by having the new owners #BringBackTommy.

3. Don’t Sue Season-Ticket Holders

I’m not a #sportsbiz expert, but it’s probably not a great idea for the new owners to sue anymore season-ticket holders.

4. Change Outfield Sculpture

I’m not as down on the tacky outfield sculpture as most people, but it’s clear that it needs to be removed or changed to usher in a new era of Marlins baseball.

5. Make Winning The #1 Priority

Above all else, consistently invest in the team and make winning the franchise’s #1 priority every year, not just every decade.
