And LeBron Should Be Nervous About It

For 3 years, Miami Heat fans have been yearning to face our arch nemesis in the playoffs. Since LeBron left, the NBA Gods have taken the opportunity to face the Cavaliers in a playoff series away from Heat Nation. What was once less likely than a Mayweather-McGregor fight, is now a possibility.

Credit to the Heat for doing the unthinkable with changing its mindset from competing for a chance at ping-pong balls to competing for a chance at championships.

Since January 17th, the Heat have won 20 of 24 — a big enough sample size to prove this isn’t simply a good run, it’s who they are.

The team that NBA experts considered “lacked assets” is now magically filled with some of the NBA’s youngest assets. From rookie of the year candidate Rodney McGruder to comeback player of the year Dion Waiters, this team has never let others doubt their abilities.

As Pat Riley’s retooling process is ahead of schedule, this year’s Heat team is playing with house money as expectations are….well, no expectations.

The freedom which comes from a lack of expectations has allowed the team to be gutsy, loose and play freely. Every player on the team has embraced what #HeatCulture represents and now fully #TrustsTheSpocess.

As the best story in the NBA this season, the only fitting way to continue the Heat’s magical season would be with a 1st round match up versus the defending champs.

Yes, a first round matchup versus the Raptors/Celtics/Wizards would be an easier series, but the Miami Heat organization has never been about taking the easy road.

“Be scared of no one and embrace challenge.” — Miami Heat*

This Heat team knows they instill fear in others and want to be the ones to take a shot at dethroning the King from his Eastern Conference Throne.
