Miami Herald — South Florida’s millennials just can’t seem to leave the nest. According to analysis by online real estate company Zillow, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area ranks No. 2 in cities with the highest numbers of people ages 24 to 34 living with Mom, with 33.4 of the city’s millennial population still at home.

I have decided to help out millennials and break down the pros and cons for living at home while in your 20's.

PROS TO LIVING AT HOME:

  1. No rent equals more money to spend on bottles, bro
  2. Free leftovers
  3. You don’t have to make a decision as to where you want to live….decision making is the worst
  4. Toilet paper is always magically stocked
  5. Never have to spend your time seeing family

CONS TO LIVING AT HOME:

  1. Every day is a battle and a half with your parents
  2. You are basically forced to be in a relationship because the pickup line “You want to come home to my parents house?” will never work.
  3. Any friend who lives on their own constantly gives you shit for living with mommy and daddy
  4. Getting told “my house, my rules” All. The. Time.
  5. You probably live in the suburbs and get stuck in awful traffic on the way to work in the city

WINNER:

It’s a toss up. My feeling is just copy whatever your friends do. If the majority of your friends live at home, then live at home. If most of your friends have their own place, its time for you to leave the nest (and take leftovers before you go).
