Former Philadelphia 76ers GM, Sam Hinkie is a bizarre man and a recent story on him states that he listens to audiobooks at 3X speed.

First things first.

If you are either above the age of 10 or below the age of 65, you should ONLY listen to audiobooks as opposed to real books.

Why?

Because reading books is what you do when you have no job and have nothing but time on your hands (thus younger than 10 and older than 65)

Since Sam Hinkie is now jobless and has plenty of time on his hands, it’s an even more weird for him to listen to books at 3X speed.

However, I respect the hell out of this ballsy move because as an ADD guy (anyone born post 1990), I am also someone who will only listen to things at a frenzied pace.

That being said, I had always seen the 3X speed setting, but never understand the purpose because it is physically impossible to keep up with a story at that speed.

3X should come with a Warning

3X speed on audiobooks is so fast it makes Twista’s verse in the song “Celebrity Overnight” seem slow.

If you listen to a book at 3X speed, you will undoubtedly miss most of the story because if you take 1 mental fart break, you basically miss an entire chapter.

At that point, you are better off just getting an audiobook of a SparkNotes book summary (this doesn’t exist, but it needs to).

If Sam Hinkie rebuilt the 76ers at the speed he listens to audiobooks, he may still have a job.

If you listen to podcasts and audiobooks at an increased speed, please click the💚 below!
