Lunch with Hash_Pipe69
Date #554 — Saturday, March 7, 2015
A: Back in high school Tasha asked for advice on what her internet handle should be so as joke I sent her (as in, I wrote down on a piece of paper and gave her) a list of possible usernames. hash_pipe69 stuck… as a joke of course, but it’s been over 10 years and it still hasn’t left my brain. Little moments and memories like this, I will be forever grateful.
B and I walked from our place north of Bloor and Ossington over to Mother Dumplings, one of Tasha’s favourite places in TO. Our walk was long and we talked about our different paces. I know exactly how long it’ll take me to get somewhere so I leave at the appropriate time. But B walks way slower than I do because “he likes to get there in his own time,” he explained. Well, we agreed that we would both take our paces into consdieration when getting places because I never like being late. I think this will work for us.
Lunch was delicious! Since Tash moved out of TO I haven’t been back here but it’s really, really good food and at a reasonable price. Never let me order, though. I always pick tooooo mannnny thinnnngs!
B: It’s true, A did order waaaaay too much. Which usually means I have to do a lot of extra eating (or I choose to).
The thing about the pace may sound trivial. And it may be. A doesn’t like being late and I don’t like being rushed. That’s what’s important — acknowledging each other’s feelings. It’s important to communicate things like that and try to see it from the other person’s perspective and reach a compromise.
We did lunch and then I went to deal with my bike.
