Watching The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 & MEC

Date #737 — Friday, November 10th, 2015

B: I’d been looking forward to the new Hunger Games movie all week. I re-watched the first 3 films and was super stoked to go with A.

We met before the movie at MEC so A could look at new backpacks and I could look at goggles. When we got there we didn’t really say “hi” to one another and that caused some issues. We were on different levels and that resulted in miscommunications.

We separated and then came back together and A started to talk and I said, “Wait. Let’s first say ‘hi’ and greet one another and go from there.”

I think it’s easy for us to take the person’s presence for granted and jump right into the next thing.

We re-balanced and had a fantastic time at the movies. I told A it wasn’t my favourite film of the series, but now I’m not sure. I think the last 2 films could have been made in to one. Either way, it was a really great commentary on power and wealth. The whole series really reminded me of why I think financial wealth and that being linked to so many people’s ideas of success helps contribute to a lot of problems.

A: The final Hunger Games movie! The third book was my favourite and part 1 to this book was purely setting up the best parts of the book so I was really excited for this instalment. I thought it was the best of all of them, but B disagreed. I can’t remember what he said except for, “Really?!” when I told him that.

Before the film I got a new napsack and wallet at MEC with a giftcard I got for my birthday! I needed a waterproof sack for when I bike in the rain with my laptop. Gotta love MEC!
