The Evolutionary Diet — Serge Benhayon leads the way.
Serge Benhayon — Philosopher, Practitioner, Author and family man — he is the founder of Universal Medicine, and a World Leader in bringing to humanity a much needed wake-up call in the form of love and truth. You only have to look around at the way we are living on planet Earth to see that something has seriously gone wrong. I don’t need to list here the entirety of our woes, wars and the rapidly increasing health problems across the globe. Suffice to say that we only need look at the news reports and within our communities to see that something is not right with how we are living.
How we choose to live and the choices we make do have an impact on the environment around us. What we have yet to accept and fully appreciate is that our choices affect everyone, and so by cleaning up our own back yard we are actually going to have an impact across the world. If everything is energy (which it is) and we live in a sea of energy (which we do) then this makes perfect sense.
This has been highlighted to me through listening to the presentations of Serge Benhayon over the years and applying the principles of self-love, which for me means taking the level of care and respect I have for myself and my body a whole lot deeper and making choices to support myself in every way. I have found that this builds a quality in my body that can be felt by others, which demonstrates to me that we do affect other people by how we live and the choices we make for ourselves.
One particular area of interest to me is what he shares around the science of food. It’s a subject that is huge and one that I feel goes largely ignored, which isn’t too surprising when we look more closely at our relationship with food and what motivates us around when and what we choose to eat. It’s a subject that is well worth taking a moment to stop and consider more deeply, simply because food affects our physiology more than we care to realise.
One of the many things I have gained from listening to Serge, is a much deeper understanding of food and that it has an energy and a vibration, as do we. If we take into consideration that we are here on earth to evolve, then how can the food that we consume support us in that evolution?
• Could it be that somewhere along the line we have lost our way and forgotten our grand heritage and where we come from?
• Are we actually here on Earth to return back to living the magnificence of who we truly are?
• Have we become embroiled in a much lesser version of who we really are and are playing out stories in life as if they are true?
• Could it be that because of the way we are living, we have buried our innate wisdom and awareness?
• Could it be that we use food to close ourselves down to feeling our hurts and the immense sadness we feel at separating from the love that we are?
• What if our purpose here is to evolve back to who we truly are and return to where we originally came from and that food can either be a means of providing nutrition to support us or a way of delaying that process?
These are all huge questions to consider, and I feel that they underpin the relationship we each have with food. What would life be like if we ate food purely for the nutrition it offers and we were not governed by the temptation of foods that we know are not going to feel great in our body? Life would look very different I suspect.
As a student of the Way of The Livingness, I have learnt from Serge that we are our own radars of truth. We have our own innate wisdom to tap into and our bodies are our vehicles of expression that will guide us back to living the love that we innately are if we allow them to. One huge hurdle we face is our relationship with food because of the direct impact it has on our thoughts and awareness.
I appreciate how Serge has always stated very clearly that we need to feel for ourselves what foods will support us best. Of course, if someone has a medical condition and needs to seek expert advice that is the thing to do, but broadly speaking we are our own experts and need to develop our own personal relationship with food.
Generally, by many people’s standards, I eat what would be considered a very healthy diet, but what I have learnt is that I can still eat in a way that overrides what my body actually needs. I’m learning to discern the difference between choosing to eat something because that’s what I feel like in that moment or considering whether it’s really what my body needs in terms of nourishment and how I will feel after I’ve eaten.
Our relationship with food is very individual and highly personal. I am learning to listen more acutely to what my body may need depending on what’s going on for me. If I have a very physical day ahead then I need to eat in a way to supports my body. If I’m studying and it’s going to be more of a mentally challenging day, then I can adjust my diet to suit. If I’m feeling tired and rundown then stodgy, sugary foods are only going to make me feel more so. Refining and adjusting my food choices according to where I’m at is a process that is continuously evolving.
What I eat can also vary depending on the cycles of the year and also my own personal cycles and rhythms. There’s much to consider and it’s something I play with. It certainly doesn’t mean that I ever deprive myself of foods that I enjoy.
So, for me, my relationship with food is an evolutionary one… or not, depending on my choices. Sometimes I will choose food to dull or dampen my awareness. Anything to avoid feeling someone else’s reaction to me, or the sadness I don’t want to feel, or the responsibility I don’t want to embrace. I find that for me personally, food is the most convenient and effective means of distraction from what I don’t want to feel, or it can be incredibly supportive in bringing a balance and lightness to my body from which I feel clarity and awareness of so much more.
What I am learning to ask myself is how do I want to feel after eating? Do I want to feel energised, light and clear headed? Yes, of course I do, however, if I have my blinkers on and choose foods based on comfort and stimulation I know that I will feel the opposite. Knowing this doesn’t always stop me from choosing these foods so it’s a great indicator that something else is at play. It shows me that I am allowing my emotions and reactions to whatever is going on around to influence me and that there’s something I don’t want to feel.
There are times when I eat in a way that supports and allows an expansion of my awareness which feels amazing, but at the same time a little scary because it makes me stand out when I actually just want to fit in and bury my head in the sand. So, I have this kind of yo-yo effect going on with food and my awareness, but it’s something I observe and is an on-going learning.
I am now more aware of what is motivating my food choices and that what I eat and drink has a direct influence on the quality of:
• my thoughts
• my emotions
• my awareness
• my sleep
• my health
• my body and my movements
Thanks to my association with Serge Benhayon and the College of Universal Medicine, what I am very clear about, is that my life is a million-fold better than it used to be, even though previously I was ticking all the boxes in the sense of having a very comfortable life. I am happier and healthier now than ever before and I am more committed to life and building relationships. As my self-love grows, my life is becoming less about me and more about others and being a part of the community.
I am a student of life on an ever unfolding journey of exploration of myself and my awareness, and as I continue to develop and refine my relationship with food then I find I am less imprisoned by all of the ideals and beliefs I was once held by.
Eating food according to its vibration = Evolution = Love. Now, that’s a diet worth considering.
