Introducing Crypton Credits
Economies are built on currencies. Currency is like the bloodline of the economy, it runs far and wide and performs the crucial task of carrying transactions between different parties. It provides fluidity and speed at which transactions can be done between any 2 parties which are a part of the ecosystem.
Play to Earn (P2E) Games are no different. They are like a virtual economy, with its own set of economic rules, and thus need a currency to run it effectively.
It has been 6 months since we launched the OWN Cryptoverse and this seems to be the right time to introduce a platform currency.
This, however, is not like what other P2E games do… This is not a launch of yet another Shitcoin 🤷♂️…

Introducing Crypton Credits 💰💰
We are introducing a platform currency called Crypton Credits (CC). They will be used to perform financial transactions in the OWN Cryptoverse . This is not a Crypto token, but just an in-game asset.
But why a Platform Currency?
There are several reasons for introducing CC, some of which I have tried to explain below:
Blockchain transactions
As much as I would like the Blockchain transactions to be fast and reliable, the real story is — they are not. There are times when the gas fee is just too high or the queue is too long.
As we start to host mini games on the platform, the time window to submit the game fee on the blockchain will be very small. The inconsistent behaviour of blockchain transactions will be a deterrent to this cause.
Platform credits enable us to execute these transactions real time!
Promoting platform activity
There are times when the platform wishes to promote a particular activity (for example — daily quests) or a game. Currently, we have just 1 lever (gift games) to reward the user for such actions.
CC provides us a more fluid way of rewarding users, because they can be used for a lot of things apart from paying just the game fee.
How will Crypto Credits work? ⚙️ ⚙️
Crypton credits are not a Crypto token. They are purely an in-game asset or an on platform currency to execute transactions in the OWN Cryptoverse. Here are the key things that you need to know:
💵 CC to USDC peg
We believe that for a lot of mini activities on the platform, game players would be keen to pay anywhere from 0.05 to 0.1 USDC. Remembering decimals is hard. So, CC has been pegged as 1000 CC = 1 USDC. So, for mini activities, the users can generally pay 50 to 100 CC.
🎮 Gift Games to CC
All existing Gift Games will be converted into an equivalent amount of Crypton Credits (1 Gift Game = 1000 CC = 1 USDC) with the same expiry date as the current gift games.
🎮 Gift Games in Raffle
We will discontinue the concept of Gift Games in raffle. Instead, we will start airdropping Crypton Credits.
🎟️ Game Fee in Fantasy
Fantasy game fee will be paid in CC. If the user has the required number of CC in the wallet, they will be deducted while submitting the team. If not, the user will have an option to buy the CC while submitting the team.
🏆 Rewards in Fantasy
Fantasy rewards will continue to be given out in USDC.
Buying & Selling of Crypton Credits
Users can freely buy and sell Crypton Credits on the platform. Since the credits are not a crypto token, users will not be able to wire the CC to any other user. However, they can freely convert them into USDC at any point of time without any restrictions.
Buying CC
There will be 3 plans that will be offered currently. The plans are as follows:
- 5k CC (for 5 USDC) — No bonus added
- 10k CC (for 10 USDC) — 500 bonus credits added
- 50k CC (for 50 USDC) — 5k bonus credits added.
Converting CC to USDC
The user will be able to convert all non-bonus credits into USDC at any point of time at the rate of 1000 CC = 1 USDC. We process all requests every 15 mins.
