OWN Breeding Guide
Walkthrough of One World Nation’s NFT breeding process.
Since the rise of CryptoKitties, breeding has always been an interesting part of NFT based play-2-earn ecosystem. Two NFTs come together to give birth to a completely new NFT. You can use these NFTs to play in the games and earn rewards or you can simply sell them and earn profits at marketplaces.
Similarly, in our game — One World Nation, apart from “Genesis Cryptonites”, which are only sold by platform, breeding is the only way new cryptonites will come in the OWN Cryptoverse. The article is a step-by-step guide for “how to breed your NFTs” at OWN…
Getting started
Go to the Breeding “Tab” on the platform and select the cryptonites you want to breed together. Remember, you will need at least 2 cryptonites that are eligible for breeding.
Once you have selected the Cryptonites in the Breeding Arena, you will be able to see the breeding cost required to complete the transaction.
Eligibility Criteria for NFTs
Not all NFTs are ready to breed. The greyed out NFTs you see in the left sidebar (in the image below) are “Ineligible NFTs” for Breeding. They could be ineligible for breeding due to the following reasons:
- The Cryptonite has reached its Breedopause (bred 7 times already)
- The Cryptonite is being used in the game at that time.
- The Cryptonite is under the cooldown period.
- The Cryptonite has not achieved Level 1 on the platform.
Cost of Breeding
The breeding cost will compose of $LFG tokens + Breeding Fees.
- The number of $LFG tokens required will depend upon the breeding count of both parents. For e.g. If parent 1 has a breed count of (2/7) and parent 2 has a breed count of (3/7), then the total $LFG tokens required will be (2 +1) + (3+1) = 7.
- Breeding Fees will be fixed for any breeding event at 15 USDC.
If you don't have a sufficient balance of $LFG token or USDC (required for breeding fees), you should be able to top up your wallet from the breeding arena itself.
Once the breeding payment transaction is completed, a breeding egg will be submitted to the user’s wallet.
Eggs
Eggs will be the outcome of a breeding event. Once the breeding transaction is completed and added to our breeding smart contract, the resulting egg/egg(s) will be added to your wallet.
Cryptonite Reveal
The egg created via breeding will incubate for a period of 24 hrs before it can be hatched. The user will need to hatch out the offspring after the incubation period, or the egg will break itself after 48 hrs.
Cool Down Period
All parent Cryptonites will undergo a “Cool down Period” post-breeding. During this period, Cryptonites will not be able to breed further. The cool-down period for any NFT will depend on its breeding count.
What is Lucky Breed?
Every 100th breed on the platform is called “Lucky Breed”. Lucky Breeds will always have at least one rare body part on the Crytponite.
The Breeding Arena will be highlighted whenever there is a chance to get a “Lucky Breed” from breeding. So if you plan to breed your cryptonites, you might want to check if there is a chance to get the lucky Breed.
