In this post on the official Medium account for Singapore’s open data portal, Daniel Sim, a data scientist at the Government Technology Agency of Singapore’s (GovTech) Data Science Division explains how he and his colleagues used big data analysis to find the root of service disruptions on Singapore’s MRT Circle Line.

It was cool to see what, on the surface, appears to be boring technical information used to do some Sherlock Holmes-style detective work and nab a very sneaky offender. It’s also a pretty cool intro to big data analytics.
