It can be frustrating being a comedian or comedy lover in a small town. You may feel that you have to travel upwards of an hour or more to go see a headlining comedian anyone has ever heard of or to perform at a venue that feels worthy of your hilarity.

But fear not.

In this post, I will share some tips and tricks to developing your own smokin’ hot comedy scene in even the most podunky of podunk towns.

Benefits of Developing A Comedy Scene in Your Hamlet

There are many pros to starting up a comedy scene in your teeny, tiny town. Doing so will:

  • Create an influx and movement of local dollars into a particular area
  • Build a community with a similar interest
  • Strengthen your own interests and skills
  • Raise your stock / build your own popularity
  • Open the creative minds of your friends and neighbors
  • Give folks an excuse to get out
