“Market Place” SMS Based Application
There are 7 million APPs available for the smartphone and 10% of these are for commercial use.
If you have a small business, that’s great news if you and your customer own a smartphone and have access to the internet.

Virtual Wallet
The ONEm ecosystem supports the blockchain technology and ONEm’s own mCoin cryptocurrency. The wallet lets mCoins be sent just by using the uniquely global ONEm user name. In this way the user does not have to deal with or even know about the 64 character cryptographic address.
The virtual wallet lets users send and receive mCoin as well as keep track of their transactions in their own history. Much of this history comes from the credit card like transactions that users will be carrying out while using ONEm’s virtual applications can use mCoin.
Virtual Applications
The virtual smartphone runs virtual applications that can turn a basic mobile into a powerful business and social tool. Virtual Applications use the ONEm ecosystem capabilities for messaging and voice to enhance communication.
Virtual applications are launched with the # character followed by the full, partial or equivalent name. If there are any ambiguities the platform will provide a list of options or in the case of a partial name launch the only application meeting those character patterns.
Market Place — Virtual Application
Market Place lets a farmer, craftsman, laborer, wholesaler, retail merchant and end customer carryout business transactions together.
A seller can register, list and promote their products or services for sale. Users will be able to search and communicate with sellers either by message or voice. The application handles communication anonymity by using the ONEm identity instead of the actual mobile number. The applications route the calls and messaging through the ONEm ecosystem where all users are registered and vetted.
For a farmer Market Place acts like a Grange listing service. Farmers can list their production and target prices. Buyers can place direct orders, send messages or call to negotiate. For transactions farmers can use mCoins which will go into escrow for the buyer to commit to purchase.
A buyer can search via category, location or for keywords or go back to their purchase history. Where there are several options available the most relevant is displayed first.
The message option lets the buyer send a message directly to the seller. These messages are kept in a thread in each of the user’s cloud space for future reference.
To send a message a user can simply send #msg followed by the ONEm name and a message line. If the ONEm name is a group then all participants in that group will receive a message. In this way a farmer’s collective can get and share information on communal sales.
The most popular option is the call function. This option lets the buyer call the seller without either giving up their actual mobile number. When this option is selected the seller is called by the ONEm ecosystem and when the seller picks up the buyer is called back. Neither buyer nor seller know directly who the other is. There is a record of their @name identity. This is the best option for semi-literate people. A very simple messaging system and the ability to call and discuss business directly.
ONEm’s virtual wallet creates a credit card-like experience for users. If a seller wishes to accept mCoin and a buyer has mCoin they can use their virtual wallet to for their transaction. The Market Place will create all of the transaction details to store in the user’s wallet. This can act as a way to create credit/business transaction history.
The seller can send a Request for a certain amount of mCoin. The transaction seller ONEm name, description, amount, date and time is stored in an incoming request folder. The buyer can check their incoming folder and send accept or reject the payment request.
Social Impact
Billions of dollars goes into humanitarian efforts to help people live better lives. Many people only need a change to help themselves. These kinds of tools go far to achieving this goal. If people can learn to help themselves by having greater access to information and tools to reach out to do business they can improve their own lives.
