Karl Marx… and David Ricardo?!?

… influenced by David Ricardo?

The most recent One Minute Economics animation is about David Ricardo, someone who influenced *lots* of economic minds… Karl Marx included!

It’s quite remarkable how pretty much everyone at least kinda-sorta knows about controversial characters like Karl Marx, whereas if you’re not an economist, I’m pretty sure you’ve never (ever) heard about David Ricardo, despite the fact that Ricardo is easily among the top 10 economists who walked on the face of the Earth.

A real shame, in my opinion!

As such, I guess my only choice is being creative and promoting the David Ricardo video (mentioned in the first paragraph) through a Karl Marx meme, can’t go wrong! :)

At the end of the day, convincing people to learn a thing or two about (economic) history is definitely what one would call a hard sell. However, as an educator, it’s ultimately on you to figure out how to do it in a creative manner.

So, if a Marx meme is what it takes to get people to at least acknowledge the existence of David Ricardo, then that’s exactly what I’ll be putting on the table. Wish me luck and, of course, I hope those of you who end up actually watching the video find it useful and perhaps even spread the word!
