As we continue to build out our platform for the Polygon NFT community, we also want to highlight the people that have been in this ecosystem before us. Our ambassadors have been building their own network and are a huge support for our communities who are beginning their own journey’s in Polygon. We put these questions together for each one of them to answer and share with you all, enjoy:

Can you give us an intro as to what you did/do before finding web3 and ultimately what made you want to build a personal brand and contribute to the polygon ecosystem’s growth?

Before joining the Web3 space full time a few years back, I worked in insurance. During my time there, I noticed a lot of inefficiencies with the traditional banking system and also a lack of the average persons understanding of money.

I found Bitcoin for the first time in 2017, watched a few documentaries on YouTube, and the rest is pretty much history. I spent the bear market learning everything I could about this space and it wasn’t until early 2021 that I started to post content, research and my general thoughts about crypto related topics.

I started posting almost exclusively about Polygon because one of the biggest issues crypto faces is scalability, and the multi-chain approach always made sense to me. Polygon continues to surprise me with their tech, partnerships and rapid growth. I want to be a part of something that I believe in and something that can change the world for the better.

What vision do you have for the Polygon NFT ecosystem?

Polygon is one of the most adopted chains today, but we still have a long ways to go to reach mass adoption. As we know, Ethereum can become unusable to the average person when activity is high. The Polygon vision is creating a multiple chain scaling ecosystem to allow the world to use Ethereum without the crazy fees. I believe as more users experience the power of layer 2, particularly zk rollups that are coming soon, they will see no reason to trade NFTs on layer 1 again. I believe the bulk of NFT activity will eventually shift to layer 2, and what better layer 2 ecosystem than Polygon?

What made you want to be part of the ambassador team for OnePlanet?

After the terrible incident with Terra, OnePlanet didn’t hesitate to get back on their feet and look for a way to recover. Not only that, but they decided to help many NFT projects on Terra migrate with them. This is a team that builds through the worst of times and has a great product to back it up.

What are you looking forward to the most from OnePlanet building on Polygon?

Something that the Polygon ecosystem has needed is an exclusive NFT marketplace. Yes, OpenSea integrating Polygon early on was a big step for Polygon NFTs, but I think having more options is good for the entire space. There is also something special about two chains coming together as one. The Polygon community has welcomed all Terra projects with open arms and it will be amazing to watch OnePlanet continue to grow.

What is your favorite NFT project on OnePlanet (incl. upcoming projects)

I have to go with The Crypto Crew on this one. The MATIC Man reached out to me in early 2022 with his vision for this project. It’s amazing to see this come to life and the great team they have built behind it. There is nothing better than a passionate team providing real utility to the community.

The last few years have been a rollercoaster ride for NFT projects and many of them have lost their financial value, do you think NFTs are overrated?

I do think most NFTs are overrated, but I also think some are underrated. There are of course projects that are here for some quick money and some that are all about hype. The saying “99% of NFTs are going to 0” is very real, but there are some quality projects that will make it out. The projects that continue to build through the bear and stay active with their communities are the ones to pay attention to. As with any business, only the strong and valuable will survive.

What is your vision for the next 3 to 5 years for successful NFT and general web3 businesses to survive and thrive through the volatility of the market?

I think similar to any business you just need to keep your heads down and build. An issue I’ve noticed with NFT projects is if the floor doesn’t pump within a few weeks, some write off the project as dead. This is quite a ridiculous way of thinking when you compare this to any traditional business. Unfortunately, a lot of people are trying to make fast money (especially during a bull market) so I actually think if you are here building throughout the bear market, you have a massive advantage. There are many great web3 projects that started their journey in a bear market and they came out stronger on the other side.

What data points do you value the most in an NFT marketplace? What data should individual NFT projects be prioritizing to constantly bring value to their community?

In my opinion, the most important data points for an NFT marketplace are the number of users and the dollar amount volume being traded. How can you incentivize more users to use your platform and do you have a healthy amount of high value projects as well? In terms of individual NFT projects, communication is key. Listen to your community and their needs and provide updates consistently. If I’m an NFT holder, I want my voice to be heard and I want to feel like I’m a part of something. Your holders are your biggest supporters so keeping them happy is key.
