Sorry Bruce but that’s not the game that we’re playing. The real game is called ‘Who can stay relevant the longest’. And that means you better do what everyone else is doing.

Exhibit A: Donald Trump

His style of communication would have been unheard of 2 years ago. However, in 2017, if you want to break though the noise you might have to call some Mexicans rapists. Or even better, say the president wasn’t born in america. And when people come after you. Don’t apologize. Instead double down. And while you’re apologizing, make sure you take a crack at a different group. Now you have everyone’s attention. They can’t stop talking about. And if they can’t stop talking about you, you win.

The list of ridiculous things that Trump has said is longer than I am willing to type. Not only is it being normalized on a daily basis but other politicians are emulating him. Why? Because it worked.

I will give Mr. Trump credit. He didn’t duplicate anyone else around him. He did it his way and people responded. He was voted into the highest office in America and by osmosis the world. I doubt this is what Bruce had in mind, but it is the most ridiculous example I can give.
