The Real Reason Why B2B Companies Should Start Doing Facebook Live

Have you been posting consistently on your Facebook Page but without any significant results?

You create beautiful images and share helpful articles from trusted sites.

After all, that’s what the social media marketing experts advise you to do.

You’d be ecstatic to get a few likes.

But most of the time, it’s just crickets. You reach less than 1% of your fans. And if you do reach people, they don’t interact with your content.

Why is this happening?

It’s because your target audience doesn’t trust you. At least not yet.

TL;DR

While doing a Facebook Live seems like a daunting and intimidating task, it’s something that you should start considering doing for your B2B company because it is one of the fastest and most efficient ways to build trust. Marketing is All About Trust

Social media marketing is all about trust. No customer or client will engage with you the first time they see your Facebook ad, especially with B2B companies. They need more than that! First, you need them to trust your brand.

So, how can you establish trust in a world filled with fake news and click baits? Video.

Video Instills Trust

Video instills trust because people can see and hear real people that represent your business. According to Insivia, a digital business firm, “After watching a video, 64% of users are more likely to buy a product online.”

Videos are not only relevant for B2C companies. It brings even more impressive results for B2B organizations! In Insivia’s research, they discovered that:

“96% of B2B organizations use video in some capacity in their marketing campaigns of which 73% report positive results to their ROI.”

How I Ended Up Buying Books on Kindle

It’s not hard to see why videos directly affect business objectives such as bringing in sales and increasing ROI. Last year, 90% of the books I bought on Kindle was because I saw the authors talking about their books on YouTube videos.

This is true for me for both nonfiction and fiction books.

I bought a science fiction adventure because I was following the author’s YouTube channel about her life as a writer.

I bought a book of poetry because I saw the author performing one of her poems.

I bought a nonfiction book because I watched one of her interviews on one of my favorite YouTube channels (Marie Forleo).

Videos gave me a clear and concrete slice of what I was going to get from the books. It actively engaged me in a way that photos or a long blog post just can’t do. There’s also something so personal about watching the author speak about his or her book. I feel like we are instantly connected.

Live Videos are More Trust Worthy?

If pre-recorded videos can directly affect sales and ROI, how about live videos? Live videos are the perfect agents of Trust. Why? Because unlike a pre-recorded video, you get raw, spontaneous, and unedited content.

And that is the real reason why your B2B organizations should start doing Facebook Live.

It’s to establish trust with your potential customers and clients. When you establish trust, they are much easier to convert — whether it’s selling them a premium service or software.

How Can You Establish Trust with Live Video Content

  • Answer questions live.
  • Share your founder’s or organization’s story through a live interview.
  • Show how your product is being used in the real world.

These are just a few of live video formats that you can get started with. There are more that you can do depending on how much time and marketing budget you have.

On Social Media Examiner’s latest article, Live Video Marketing: Where the Industry is Heading, Michael Stelzner wrote:

Today’s consumers want you to convince them that you can be trusted, that you’re a resource, are invested in them, and can understand them. They don’t want to be marketed or sold to; they want to engage and have a conversation with you.

Increase in Inquiries

As one of the broadcasters that you can book on our platform OneStop.Live, I recently did a live video tour and live Q and A of a coffee shop brand, Cafe Tribu, that’s opening up for franchise. You can view the live tour here.

This live video tour reached more than 1k people and had 13 shares. Impressive considering the page only has 131 fans/likes. And that’s even without boosting!

The live video itself got 10 times more engagement than the usual posts. But what’s even more amazing is that the marketing agent handling the franchise applications got dozens of inquiries after the live broadcast.

She and her team was feeling frustrated by doing the same online marketing strategy. She decided to give Facebook Live a try and hired me to do it for them. Her team was very happy they did!

Live Video Considerations

Each B2B company is different in terms of products and target audience. While some things may work for a specific business (like the coffee franchise), it doesn’t mean the same strategy will work for you.

The great thing about live video, however, is that there are dozens of ways to use to support your business and marketing goals. It’s all about taking the first step and finding the right combination for your business.
