What’s happened so far?

A group of One Team Gov members pitched One Team Gov as an innovation example for cross-border collaboration and were successful! We were selected as a case study by the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation.

What did we do?

In short, the OECD were looking to surface new and impactful efforts to innovate through cross-border collaboration. They asked for people to submit their innovative projects and initiatives — both big and small — that involve bringing together governments from different jurisdictions to collaborate and innovate.

The call was open to government officials, international organisations, civil society organisations, academia, and the private sector. However, to be considered, the initiative had to have goals aimed at improving government, and the public sector being integrally involved in the work.

We believe that One Team Gov are well placed to think about these challenges, and decided to submit a case study, which you’ll find below. And then collaborated on a document where people could build on thoughts and ideas (see link here). We had a brilliant conversation to help us put together our pitch, which you’ll find below:

Our pitch

Governments traditionally don’t share information and learnings and they are often slow to evolve. One Team Gov is an innovative community that spans the globe, bringing together individuals who are committed to radically reforming government services and learning from each other. One Team Gov are an entirely volunteer-run network of individuals who continue to share ideas, project learnings, new ways of working, and continue to push government to be better for all.

We know that this community is different from networks we have all been a part of before. It supports and gives insight into a wide span of topics, that all come down to one commonality: we are all people, and we can all reach out to each other to widen our perspectives in order to make change happen within governments across the world.

You can read our full case study here:

We hope our principles and case study examples will help inspire people around the world to work differently. You can find us in Slack with other people of One Team Gov, more openly on Twitter, or at meet ups locally and globally. There’s a whole globe of One Team Gov people out there and when you’re ready, we’ll be here waiting for you.

Thanks for your time!
