You may have already heard about The Park. It’s one of the key parts of #OneTeamGovGlobal, so I wanted to talk you through what will be happening.

The Park is in the largest room at the Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEII Centre), Churchill Room on the ground floor. First and foremost, it’s where we will start and end the day. We will be running the intros and pitching there in the morning; if you want to know more about how we are managing pitching on the day you can find out more in James and Debbie’s blog here:

But we want somewhere where people can have pure fun too. So, when pitching has ended, many people will head off to the Forum (unconference) and the Village, but if you stick around The Park we have some really exciting things happening!

For example…

Learn and enjoy some yoga!

At 10:30 there will be a beginners’ yoga session — so if you’re not quite ready to get going, or you want to take the time to mentally prepare for the day, then this will be a good time to relax and focus.

Learn a new language with one of our language sessions!

Some of our friends from One Team Gov Canada will be teaching French and Romanian. Toby from One Team Gov Wales will be teaching Welsh (yes Welsh! Beth yw “excited” yn Gymraeg?!)

Learn to knit!

Jenny will be taking a rest from managing our volunteers to teach a knitting class. We’ll even be providing the wool!

There will also be a live sketch artist and various, exciting things to look at on the walls.

All the sessions happening in The Park:

10.30 — Yoga with Nicola, accessibility with Richard Morton, or a walking tour with Katie McNeil.

11.30 — Learn French with Joel, learn Portuguese with Helen, learn Romanian with Ioana, learn Welsh with Toby, or learn how to run a Virtual Lean Coffee with Sharon.

12.15 — Singing for health with Bobby.

1.30 — Lego serious play with Tammy Watchorn.

2.30 — How not to suck at post-it notes with Richard Hylerstedt, doodling with beer mats or playing with plasticine with DavidBuck, or knitting with Jenny.

3.30 — Understanding experiences of Hierarchy with Benjamin from RedQuadrant or sketchnoting with kim and Sam.
