Online.io at top 4 finalist at WebIT Festival Europe and online blockchain venture pitching in front of crowd of 7,000 people
The “EU Digital and Innovations Week” welcomed over 7000 attendees from 100+ countries including 1500 top policymakers from all around Europe and beyond (heads of states, EU commissioners, ministers, mayors, MEPs), 6000 of world’s enterprise leaders, global and European founders, entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, scientists and digital economy shapers and a top selection of Europe’s 200 most promising startups.
The Government of Bulgaria, the European Commissioner Digital Agenda & Society, the Sofia Municipality and Webit.Foundation have united forces to produce the “European Digital and Innovations Week” 2018.
Online.io team participated in the section called “Founders Games.” Founders Games is the startup competition in the program of Webit.Festival Europe. During the event, they didn’t only provide a free grant for startups to get a free expo table, free festival tickets and opportunity to meet unparalleled selection top enterprise leaders from all around the world + investors, but also a chance to WIN €200 000 seed investment!
Over 3550 companies all around the world applied for this contest, and only 150 were selected to pitch the presentation. The Online.io team was one of them.
Among the jury members you could see names like Andrew Tsao (Managing director, Silicon Valley Bank ), Karel Obluk (General Partner, Evolution Equity Partners), Sabine VanderLinden ( CEO for the InsurTech Business, Startupbootcamp ), Ethan Pierse ( Partner, Borderless Ventures ), Vlad Stanescu ( Leonardo Solutions — Business Development Director — SAP Central and Eastern Europe, SAP ) and others.
The selection was made on 5 major milestones:

- Project Scalability — 10 points
- Business approach — 10 points
- Marketing approach — 10 points
- Uniqueness of the idea — 10 points
We are thrilled to announce that from all 4 companies that got in the final we were the only company for Blockchain.
