Her pain, her tears, you can see her eyes streamin’

Fighting her demons, all by herself in God damn isolation

giving herself cuts and abrasions just tryna deal with the pain

Too familiar with her veins, views far from vain; herself she decries

but you’d never know that from the look in her eye

His future is big, it’s bright, you can see his eyes beamin’

Smart kid dreamin’ bout the day he can say he made it

The corner made him trade it; from tryna to be good to tryna to be hard

from a shootin’ star to shootin’ up and shootin’ in drive bys

but you’d never know from the look in his eye

She’s lost, she’s empty, you can see her eyes drippin’

Picturing them kissin’, she turns away ’cause she can’t handle it

He was vandalish, broke in and destroyed her from the inside

Side by side like Bonnie and Clyde til he started actin’ sly

but you’d never know it from the look in her eye

He’s weak, he’s defeated, you can see his eyes screamin’

Table teamin’ with empty bottles and heart teamin’ with empty promises

He has trouble being honest, and trouble staying sober

Bottles of whiskey take over, downs another just waitin’ to die

but you’d never know that from the look in his eye

Eyes are more than what meets the eye,

they speak but are set on standby to lie

’cause people scared to show their sensitive side

people scared to say how they really feel inside

’cause you’d never know that from just the look in their eye
