MELD Manifesto
In the pursuit of economic justice, we challenge todays economic inequalities, rejecting the current systems that favour the wealthy and advocating for individual empowerment. We assert the need for equitable access to monetary resources on a global scale, underscoring the imperative of self sovereignty and responsibility. Grounded in the belief of mathematical integrity, cryptocurrency is the solution, acknowledging human fallibility and striving for global change for the better.
ECONOMIC EQUALITY
One of the overarching problems in the world today is economic inequality.
It’s common knowledge that todays economic systems favour the rich, with universal public hatred for banks. MELD was created to correct this.
POWER TO PEOPLE
Individuals should wield control, power, and accountability over their actions. But with power comes responsibility.
Today, convenience prompts the relinquishment of rights and autonomy. MELD wants people to control their own financial futures.
IT’S YOUR MONEY
You own your money, it’s yours and no one has a right over your money.
National currency holds significance, but does not exclusively define monetary assets. Currency should be founded on democracy: by the people, for the people, and of the people.
EVERYONE BENEFITS
For an economic system to be just, it must ensure equitable financial gains for all participants. This necessitates universal access to all facets of economic participation.
In todays financial system, only large corporations and affluent benefit.
GLOBAL MONEY
Money transcends national boundaries; it’s a global asset. We are global citizens, in a global economy. As such, our currency should mirror our interconnected way of life.
Modern currency ought to represent a social contract among all individuals worldwide.
IF IT WORKS, IT’S OBSOLETE.
Perfection eludes every system, without exception. MELD, too, acknowledges imperfection and commits to crafting systems aligned with the principles outlined in this manifesto.
BELIEVE IN MATH
Cryptocurrency operates on the foundation of trust in mathematics rather than in individuals.
Humans are susceptible to emotions, corruption, and biases such as sexism, racism, and nationalism. In contrast, mathematics remains impartial and predictable.
UNIVERSAL FINANCIAL ACCESS
Every participant in the global economy deserves unfettered access to all financial instruments.
Presently, access to powerful financial instruments is confined to a privileged minority, determined by one’s wealth. This is fundamentally unjust.
PEOPLE ARE FLAWED
Human nature is inherently susceptible to corruption through greed, blackmail, envy and bribery to name a few.
The systems we construct should be structured to anticipate and mitigate negative behaviour while incentivizing positive conduct.
ALL SOFTWARE IS BROKEN
Modern programming languages are prone to inherent failures.
Just as humans are fallible, software imperfections necessitate design considerations that account for these limitations.
A WORK IN PROGRESS
Rules are not immutable; they can be challenged and improved upon. Longevity does not equate to excellence; even longstanding tools and systems should be subject to scrutiny and refinement.
ENCOURAGE EFFORT
Change requires collective effort. Recognize and appreciate those individuals courageous enough to spearhead progress. Never penalizing individuals for their initiatives.
