Vitalik Buterin’s big announcement about Plasma EVM(Tokamak Network)[KR/EN]

우선 한국의 커뮤니티 주도의 첫 이더리움 컨퍼런스를 여는데 귀중한 시간과 노력들을 쏟아주신 이드콘의 준비위원회 및 기부자분들께 깊은 감사를 표합니다. 이더리움 재단과 이드콘은 모두 비영리조직으로 오픈소스 정신을 지원하고, 진정으로 탈중앙화되고 자율적인 커뮤니티를 조성하는 등 많은 가치들을 서로 공유하고 있습니다. 저희는 이드콘이 한국의 많은 개발자들을 이더리움 생태계로 새로이 안내하고, 개발자 커뮤니티와 세상의 여러 부분을 지원하는 다른 행사에 대한 모델이 되기를 희망합니다. 이더리움 재단은 커뮤니티를 지원하기 위해 잘 알려지지 않았지만 커뮤니티에 열정과 기여를 아끼지 않는 단체와 개인들을 지속적으로 찾아서 힘을 실어주었습니다.

이러한 활동의 일환으로 오늘 이더리움 재단은 한국 커뮤니티에 감사의 마음을 전하고자 소정의 지원(Grants)을 하고자 합니다. 첫째로, 플라즈마EVM을 만들어낸 온더(Onther Inc.)에게 감사의 말을 전합니다. 온더는 플라즈마EVM을 통해 이더리움의 확장성 솔루션에 대하여 매우 흥미롭고 새로운 아이디어를 제시했고, 내용은 매우 인상적이었습니다. 온더가 제시한 디자인은 재단의 플라즈마 연구자들도 생각해내지 못한 것이었습니다. 이러한 결과가 한국 커뮤니티가 만들어낸 위와 같은 사례중 한가지라고 생각합니다.

또한 이더리움 개발자들의 개발자 경험을 개선하기 위해 많은 오픈소스 개발 툴을 개발해 온 해치랩스에게도 감사를 표합니다. 다음으로 한국 이더리움 커뮤니티와 글로벌 커뮤니티를 이어주기 위해 매우 큰 도움을 주신 분들이 계십니다. 먼저 손승원님 혹은 오공님은 주간 코어 개발자 미팅을 한국어로 번역해주셨습니다. 정우현, Atomrigs님은 지난 수년간 한국 이더리움 커뮤니티의 성장을 위해 노력해왔습니다.

또한 저희는 ethresearch의 로컬 버전인 Ethresearch.kr에도 소정의 그랜츠를 드리고자 합니다. 이를 통해 더욱 많은 한국 연구자들이 서로 소통하고 협력하여 새롭고 흥미로운 아이디어를 제시하여 커뮤니티에 긍정적인 영향을 주고 이더리움의 미래를 이끌어 나가길 희망합니다.

정말 고생많으셨습니다. 조만간 또 다른 한국 프로젝트에서도 이러한 멋진 결과를 내기를 기대하고 있겠습니다. 마지막으로 올해 데브콘5가 아시아에서 열리게 된다는 것을 기쁜 마음으로 전달드립니다. 올해 데브콘 5는 일본 오사카에서 10월 8~10일간 진행됩니다. 한국과 매우 가까운 곳에서 진행되는 만큼 많은 한국의 개발자들이 데브콘에 참여하고, 더불어 새로운 행사의 핵심이 되기를 고대합니다.

First, I wanted to to give special thanks to the Ethcon organizers and donors who have contributed their valuable time and resources to host the very first community-driven Ethereum conference in Korea. As non-profit organization, the Ethereum foundation and Ethcon share a lot of similar values and supporting the open source spirit and building truly decentralized and autonomous communities. We hope that the Ethcon event will help to bring many new developers into the Ethereum ecosystem in Korea and that it can serve as a model for other similar events that help to support the developer community and other parts of the world. In order to better support the community, the Ethereum foundation has worked for a long time to bring attention to important but relatively unknown projects and empower individuals who have been sharing their passion with community but have not always been paid and recognized.

Today we wanted to show our appreciation for the Korean Ethereum community by giving grants to some contributors. First I want to thank Onther.Inc who has produced some really interesting new ideas in their Plasma EVM scalability solution. At first I wanted to say that when I listened to their presentation at the Seoul Ethereum meetup, I was very impressed in the specific design that they made is one that even our own plasma researchers never thought about yet. So I thought that it is just one example of really great work coming out of Korea. And I wanted to thank Haechi labs for improving the developer experience by really saying many open source developer tools into the Ethereum community.

Second, there are many individuals who have significantly helped to bridge the gap between the Korean Ethereum community and the Ethereum community globally. First of all 손승원 or 오공 has contributed a lot by providing Korean translated from the weekly core dev meetings. And 정우현, Atomrigs who has been encouraging the growth of the Korean Ethereum community for a several years.

Additionally, we are going to allocate small grants to Ethresearch.kr which is a local version of ethresearch forum that’s we’ve been running for over a year now. And we hope to see more and more Korean researchers interact with each other so that this local community collaboration effort can start producing new and interesting ideas and have an impact on broader community by leading progress areas it’s center of future Ethereum.

Yey, great work everyone. I hope to see more great work like this from other Korean projects soon. So finally I’m also happy to announce that devcon 5 is going to be in Asia this year. And it’s coming to Osaka Japan October 8 to 11. So since we are going to be very close to Korea this year and I’m looking forward to seeing more Korean developers come in to become a key part our new gathering.
