Hello, this is Layer 2 network developer, Tokamak Network. We are excited to announce that Titan, Tokamak Network’s first L2 mainnet based on Optimistic Rollup, has been launched. You can access all the necessary documents and guides here.
With the launch of Titan, the Tokamak Network team aims to step forward towards On-demand Layer2, a vision of Tokamak Network.
Launch of Tokamak Network L2 mainnet Titan
Tokamak Network’s first L2 mainnet, Titan, was officially launched on June 30, 2023 at 7pm(KST). Titan is a cutting-edge solution that combines speed, affordability, developer-friendliness, and the security of Ethereum. Titan empowers users to engage in real-time, flexible, cost-effective transactions, including the upcoming native fast-withdrawal transactions.
Tokamak Network believes that the launch of Titan will be a step closer to its philosophy and vision of On-demand Layer2. On-demand means that a business provides technology or services that respond to customers’ demands. Through the On-demand Layer2 service, decentralized applications on Tokamak Network can build their own Layer2. The applications with self-built Layer2 can customize operating policies related to fees, algorithms, and specs according to their needs and as a result, transaction speed can be increased.

Exploring the advantages of Titan
Titan is an optimistic rollup-based L2 mainnet that allows high speed and high compatibility. Titan provides users better L2 experiences such as:
- Rollup Security: Titan is a secure and scalable blockchain platform designed for decentralized applications. It utilizes Ethereum L1’s proven security measures and rollup technology, which posts all transaction data and every state root to Ethereum L1.
- Improved Fee: For other projects, when withdrawing from L2 to L1, users need to create a separate transaction to complete the withdrawal process after a challenge period of about 7 days. Although Titan also requires 7 days of challenge period, users do not need to create a transaction separately since the transactions will be created automatically. Therefore, the users can reduce their transaction cost and achieve convenience. In addition, Titan WILL provides a flexible transactions scheme that allows users to pay for transaction costs not just in ETH but in ERC-20 tokens such as TON. Please note that we plan to support various tokens including TON in the future for the transaction costs.
- Powered by Optimism: Titan is a customized fork of the Optimism code based, aimed at building and improving upon an already great software. Our development team is committed to continuously integrating new features and improving existing ones.

In addition, many more DApps including TOSv2, TONStarter, etc. will be onboarded in the coming days. We also plan to support new features such as fast withdrawal, which does not require a challenge days when withdrawing funds from L2.
Roadmap of Titan
- Native Fast Withdrawal: A service that supports fast withdrawal from L2. With this service, users can withdraw funds to L1 without any challenge period.
- Improved Fee Structure Integration: ERC-20 tokens including TON can be used to pay transaction costs by utilizing ERC-4337.
- Titan Holesky Open: After Holesky testnet opens (scheduled for Q3 2023), it will be supported by Titan.
- Optimism Bedrock Integration: Optimism Bedrock update will also be reflected. Therefore, Titan will maximize user convenience by providing lower transaction fees, improved EVM compatibility, and faster transaction speed.
- TONStarter L2 Launchpad Service: TONStarter will be supported on L2.
- Optimism OP Stack Maintenance: Titan will provide new features provided by Optimism
- TokamakOP L2 On-demand Open: Tokamak Network will allow DApps to create their own L2 by providing On-demand service. With this feature, DApps on Tokamak Network will be able to maintain high transaction speed.
Upcoming Event
In a way to thank our supporters for continuous interest and support for our mainnet, we plan to hold an airdrop event. The airdrop will be provided to some of the users who have used our testnet and mainnet. The snapshot date has not been confirmed yet, but it is being considered for sometime in August.
