Hello, this is Layer 2 network developer, Tokamak Network. We are excited to announce that Tokamak Network’s first L2 mainnet will be launched in June 2023. This is an optimistic rollup-based L2 mainnet that allows high speed and high compatibility.
Later on, we also plan to develop a ZK rollup based mainnet. This will allow DApps on Tokamak Network to choose and select Layer 2 catered to their needs.
Tokamak Network
Tokamak Network helps people join the decentralized world. Ethereum is a powerful decentralized application platform, but it has limitations such as low TPS, high transaction fees, and lack of customization. Although many L2 solutions have emerged in order to overcome aforementioned limitations, there is no protocol that easily and safely connects different L2 solutions to expand and improve the ecosystem.
Tokamak Network team aims to overcome these challenges by providing better interoperability, on-demand L2, and scalable ecosystem.
- Tokamak Network will allow fast transactions through interoperability with Optimistic rollup, ZK rollups, and other L2 solutions.
- Tokamak Network plans to provide on-demand L2 services through easy L2 deployment, simplifying service scaling and ecosystem integration.
- Tokamak Network provides a scalable ecosystem with TONStarter, a decentralized launchpad that simplifies fundraising and easily integrates with Tokamak Network’s L2.
Journey to L2 Mainnet
Tokamak Network released three testnets (Gabriel, Natasha, and Darius) so far.
Through the first testnet, Gabriel, we laid the groundwork for supporting various types of L2 solutions by using the Optimism solution connected to the Ethereum mainnet while reducing gas fees.
In the second testnet, Natasha, we changed the way L2 fees are charged. This approach allowed L2 operators to choose which ERC-20 token to use as transaction fees when deploying their L2 solutions.
The third testnet, Darius, added features that improve user convenience. In the past, when using and developing DApps in L 2, transactions and contracts had to be developed and managed separately for L1 and L2, which was inconvenient. However, Darius testnet enabled the development of DApps and integration into L2 in the same environment as L1, the Ethereum mainnet without any code modifications.
Tokamak Network team has released various testnets to provide a high-quality L2 mainnet. By supplementing the problems identified through the testnets, we have been able to release mainnet with high user convenience and high security.
Launch Date
L2 mainnet is scheduled to be launched in June 2023. The exact date will be announced through our community channels.
