Tokamak Optimism Testnet Gabriel Release [EN/KR]
Hi! This is On-demand Ethereum Layer 2 Platform ‘Tokamak Network’. We are releasing ‘Tokamak Optimism Testnet Gabriel’ based on Optimistic Rollup.
Background
As an On-demand Ethereum Layer 2 platform, we want to provide an experience where DApp developers can select their Layer 2 catered to their needs. Layer 2 has several types of solutions depending on the type of transaction and verification method it supports. Tokamak Network aims to support Optimistic Rollup after Plasma to support various types of Layer 2.
About Optimism Layer 2
Optimism is an Optimistic Rollup solution that can process all types of transactions of the existing Ethereum. It is the most popular layer 2 solution currently because it can guarantee the safety of users. In particular, it supports smart contracts in Layer 2 and has an execution environment compatible with EVM. For this reason, DApp developers can put DApps on top of Optimism layer 2 in the same way as existing smart contract development, and provide a better experience for DApp users.

Gabriel is the first testnet of Tokamak Optimism, and in the future, we plan to open several versions of the testnet with improved user environment in Tokamak network. Each version of the testnet will have various features that will improve the DApp utilization, and importantly, layer 2 fee policy customization function will be available.

옵티미즘은 Optimistic Rollup 솔루션으로 기존 이더리움의 모든 종류의 트랜잭션을 처리할 수 있으며, 사용자들의 안전을 강력하게 보장할 수 있기 때문에 현재 가장 각광받고 있는 레이어2 솔루션입니다. 특히 레이어2에서 스마트 컨트랙트를 지원하며, EVM과 호환되는 실행 환경을 가지고 있습니다. 이같은 이유에서 Dapp 개발자들은 기존의 스마트 컨트랙트 개발과 같은 방식으로 옵티미즘 레이어2 위에 Dapp을 올릴 수 있으며, Dapp 사용자들에게 더 나은 경험을 제공할 수 있습니다.

가브리엘은 토카막 옵티미즘의 첫 테스트넷이며, 향후 토카막 네트워크에는 사용 환경 등이 개선된 여러 버전의 테스트넷을 추가로 오픈할 계획입니다. 테스트넷의 각 버전들은 Dapp에서 활용할 수 있는 여러 특징들이 개선될 예정이며, 대표적으로는 레이어2의 수수료 정책 커스터마이징 기능이 있을 예정입니다.
