Ontology is pleased to announce the official launch of ‘Ontology Mercury’ — a trusted, Decentralized Identifier (DID) based peer-to-peer communication framework, adding weight to the platform’s capabilities pertaining to Decentralized Identity interoperability and security.

The remit of the Ontology Mercury framework will include support for multiple types of messages including general messages and verifiable credential-related messages as well as support for message routing and security.

Currently, a Go SDK is provided, and additional SDKs for more languages will be provided in the near future, including Java and Objective-C. Prospective developers are invited to go to Ontology’s GitHub repository and deploy to their own applications.

The announcement follows the recent release of Ontology’s bespoke Decentralized Identity solution, geared towards enabling crypto holders and traders to manage and exchange digital assets in a secure and streamlined manner. Via Ontology’s Decentralized Identity solution, holders of digital assets now have full oversight over their respective holdings through Ontology’s dedicated dashboard, irrespective of their wallet of choice.

Commenting on the announcement, LI JUN, Founder of Ontology, said, “With the goal of enabling the secure communication connection between decentralized IDs, we are delighted to announce further progress with respect to our Decentralized Identity solution suite, specifically the launch of the Ontology Mercury framework. Today’s announcement captures our far-reaching ambition to strengthen the technical prowess of our ONT ID, and broaden the scope of potential associated applications significantly.”
